Dear Carol,
You saved me from another C-section. I went my whole pregnancy with the Dr leading me into believing I could have a VBAC (vaginal birth after a cesarean) I was so happy. Then a week before my due date without even consulting with me she scheduled the surgery. She said I probably couldn’t have a baby anyway. I was in shock, so when Thursday came around I called and said I wouldn’t be coming into the hospital. I called and you came the very next day to visit with me. You were such encouragement and reminded me that women were made to give birth naturally. Well today I have a happy baby boy born vaginally. Thanks Carol. Before that Friday knew nothing about homebirth and how safe it can be. I hope other women like me who want vaginal births will give homebirth with a midwife a chance, it was so worth it, I never go back to a doctor again.

Laura

Hello Carol,

You let nature take its course with our new son Ethan and your thoughts and ideals with Bonnie's pregnancy were right on track. You are a very kind and helpful soul - good luck.

Love,
Tim

Carol,

Thank you so much for all that you did to assist us in bringing Ethan into the world. My birth experience was beautiful and positive.

PS We loved the personalized blanket with his name and birth date on it. It was a very nice touch...

Dear Carol

Thank you so much for helping us have the peaceful homebirth we so much wanted for our daughter. We will always be grateful to you for going the extra mile to make a home birth possible for us.

May God continue to bless you,
Heather

Babies are so sweet because they are homemade

Dear Carol,

Just a note to thank you for the wonderful job you did of helping deliver my grandbaby.  I was pretty nervous about the whole "at home birth" thing. I trust my daughter and my son-in-law's decisions, but I had never had any experience with home births.

I watched you through the whole thing and I have to say I came away feeling really good. It wasn't rushed like it is in the hospital. You answered all of our questions we had about the birth and explained what was happening during the birth.  It almost seemed more of an educational experience. You made everyone feel at ease with everything that was going on.

Instead of it being a rush rush experience, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. I know Brian and Tonia are very grateful to you and so am I. Thank you again for making us feel at ease.

Thanks,
Brenda

Carol,

I was so leery of home birth. How could it be safe? The hospital has all that necessary equipment in case something goes wrong. So I had a hospital birth for my first pregnancy.

I found out that I couldn’t have a natural birth like they led me to believe. Their was all these interventions, the use of pitocin to speed my labor up then the epidural to relieve the intense pain created from the pitocin. They threaten if things didn’t hurry up they were going to give me a C-section, well that was it, I made it to a vaginal birth with the support of my husband.

This time I had a home birth. It was so peaceful, my midwife was so compassionate and encouraging and when I got stuck she didn’t threaten going to the hospital. She monitored me and our baby and said we were doing fine, that women were made to give birth and I could do it. She was very professional but layed back at the same time. She was great, I would never go back to the hospital unless it was an emergency.
